Pilot Marketing Group was founded by David Hunter in 1994 with the mission to help software companies build awareness of their technologies to the channel. Pilot provides both software solutions and the training expertise to implement those solutions exclusively through the reseller channel. We have provided this service very effectively for thirteen years working with a maximum of six manufacturers at one time. Our products are geared toward enterprises that are struggling to incorporate color and imaging into their environment. Our solutions are also ideal for both the creative environment, consisting of design firms, ad agencies, marketing companies, graphic designers, photographers; and the production environment, consisting of pre press houses, printers, print service providers, and photo labs.
Company Background
Pilot has developed numerous dealers to become focused on solutions related to graphic orientated solutions, primarily based on Apple computers. We have high profile customers like Ford Motor Company, Reebok, Thomson, General Mills, Target, Anheuser Busch, Rogers Media, American Express, Time and Ameritech. We have been hired to consult for manufacturers such as Apple Cupertino, Radius Corporation, Xerox Corporation, Imation and X-Rite. We are a Charter Member (one of three) of the Apple ColorSync Profilers. We provide these solutions through a network of North American dealers that use our expertise to solve customer problems.

David Hunter- Founder, Principal of Pilot Marketing Group

20+ years experience marketing graphically orientated computer solutions. He has extensive experience working with the creative and design customers as well as calibrating plate curves and customizing gray balance on printing presses. He teaches the 5 day Implementing Color Management class at PIA/GATF and has done so for since 1999, over 1000 people have taken this course, average rating is 4.9/5.0. He also teaches the PIA/GATF Advanced Color Management Class. He was the founder and moderator for the first 6 Color Management Conferences for PIA/GATF and has since founded and moderates the PMA (Photo Marketing Association) Color Conference. He has partnered with numerous training projects with IPA (international Prepress Association), and many local PIA affiliates across North America. He also teaches multiple Color Courses in conjunction with the institute for Graphics and Imaging in Wisconsin. He is GRACoL7 certified and has over 40 customers running GRACoL7 as of September 07.
Lou Prestia - Western Regional Manager

Prior to starting with Pilot Marketing and Prestia Color Consulting, Lou Prestia worked for Nimblefish technologies as their variable data print workflow architect. During the late 1990's, he worked at Adobe Systems, first a technical marketing manager for Adobe's prepress products, then as the manager of the company's in-plant prepress graphics lab. He worked most recently in the role of Adobe's color technology evangelist. In this role he developed color technology training programs that included topics in PDF and PostScript color management. Prior to his career at Adobe, he worked or Barneyscan (later PixelCraft), supporting users of desktop scanning systems, maintaining a production graphic arts lab and developing training programs for scanning users. He has trained hundreds of production, engineering, marketing and sales personnel throughout the world and has developed extensive curricula on a variety of graphic arts topics. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Printing Management and Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.
